For the last 18 years, Tilley Chemical has experienced significant growth as a Phillips 66® Lubricants distributor by offering a comprehensive assortment of products as well as taking advantage of the wide array of training courses available in order to continually grow its business.
This third-generation, family business was established in 1952 as a chemical company and, since then, Tilley Chemical has continued to grow and expand while maintaining a strong focus on its employees and an unwavering attention to quality and delivering on customer needs. Most recently, the company has seen a significant increase in business following the development of a new state-of-art lubricants facility near Baltimore, Maryland. This allows Tilley Chemical to serve a larger customer base throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Tilley Chemical’s experienced and well established sales team has seen great success with Phillips 66® Lubricants products, including Kendall GT-1® Full Synthetic Motor Oil with Liquid Titanium® and Triton® ECT Full Synthetic, enabling the company to successfully migrate its auto and heavy duty fleet customers to full synthetics. Wayne Haviland, Lubricant Business Manager for Tilley Chemical says, “Converting our customers’ fleets has provided real results in the form of huge savings on both fuel and maintenance costs for their fleets.”
In addition, Tilley Chemical has long seen the benefits of participating in Phillips 66 Lubricants’ training courses and business programs. For nearly two decades, the organization has participated in the Business Development Allowance (BDA) program and the Kendall New Account Conversion Allowance (NACA) Program, which Haviland says has helped Tilley Chemical transition its customers to full synthetics. He also adds that the sales team loves the Titanium Incentive Program (TIP+). In the coming years, Tilley Chemical expects to see growth surrounding the use of synthetics, as well as customer demand for higher quality. “Having a strong relationship with Phillips 66 Lubricants is a real benefit as it helps show our customers that we provide high quality products and the top-tier programs really differentiate us,” says Haviland.
